Dynamic Diffuse Global Illumination Resampling

چکیده
Interactive global illumination remains a challenge in radiometrically and geometrically complex scenes. Specialized sampling strategies are effective for specular near-specular transport because the scattering has relatively low directional variance per event. In contrast, high from paths comprising multiple rough glossy or diffuse events notoriously difficult to resolve with small number of samples. We extend unidirectional path tracing address this by combining screen-space reservoir resampling sparse world-space probes, significantly improving sample efficiency contributions that terminate on events. Our experiments demonstrate clear improvement—at equal time quality—over purely traced probe-based baselines. Moreover, when combined commodity denoisers, we able interactively render

متن کاملVolume-based Diffuse Global Illumination
In this paper we present a novel real-time algorithm to compute the global illumination of scenes with dynamic geometry and arbitrarily complex dynamic illumination. We use a virtual point light (VPL) illumination model on the volume representation of the scene. Light is propagated in void space using an iterative diffusion approach. Unlike other dynamic VPL-based real-time approaches, our meth...
متن کاملStochastic Iteration for Non-diffuse Global Illumination
This paper presents a single-pass, view-dependent method to solve the rendering equation, using a stochastic iterational scheme where the transport operator is selected randomly in each iteration. The requirements of convergence are given for the general case. To demonstrate the basic idea, a very simple, continuous random transport operator is examined, which gives back the light tracing algor...

متن کاملCube-map Data Structure for Interactive Global Illumination Computation in Dynamic Diffuse Environments
In this paper we present Cube-map data structure for global illumination computation at interactive rates. Our algorithm computes global illumination by iterative computation of irradiance from multiple bounces. Emission from light source is simulated using the direct lighting capability of the GPU. Light bouncing out of surfaces of the scene are captured in cube-maps distributed over the volum...
